A magnitude 4.6 earthquake struck Laoang, Northern Samar at 8:32 a.m. Monday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported.
The earthquake was tectonic in origin and its epicenter traced 73 kilometers northeast of Laoang with a depth of six kilometers.
Due to its depth, Phivolcs said it was not expected to cause any damage to property. No casualties were reported as a result of the tremor
